An Ecellent performance which blew away any hangover from the past year. Irvine took the lead but we hit back from a really good header by Birnie the cross coming from Dinsdales right foot. Ufortunatley we held the lead for about a minute when ball watching allowed Irvine to go ahead again. However thanks to some poor goalkeeping we were level when the keeper couldn't keep Stuarts shot from going behind the line. With the impetus with us we started to cause the away defence some problems and Stuart rushed through and shot home from 12 yds out. Before half time came young Walshy had hammered in a goal from the 18yds to take us in with a comfortably two goal cushion at the break. Irvine were thefirst to score after the break but we kept the distance to two goals when Walshy got on the end of a through ball to slip it past the keeper. Two goals on his debut by Adam Croft, another one from Birnie made us comfortable, although Irvine did threaten with a couple of goals that we gifted them. Captain Dins finished the scoring when he netted from the spot after the keeper brought down Crofty.
